Julienne Palluel
Passed Away
We are all saddened by this news.
Frederic Palluel's mom:
Julienne Palluel, 69, of Paris, France died October 4, 2004. Mme Palluel was the
mother of French ice dance champion and Olympian Frederic Palluel.
Born Julienne Michas in Limoges, she experienced and survived the hardships and horrors
of wartime France. In 1957 she married Guy Palluel and together they raised their son Frederic.
From 1978 to 1992, Mme Palluel recognized and nurtured Frederic’s extraordinary skating
talent and was a steady voice of encouragement during his years as an elite skater.
She exemplified the parental perseverance, selflessness, and love that can help a child
transform his dreams into reality. She was the ultimate skating mom.
Mme Palluel was a warm, honest, down-to-earth lady. She remained involved with Frederic’s
coaching career in the United Sates and shared her enthusiasm for ice dancing as well as
her native French culture with each and every one of his students. She was loving and
beloved and will be greatly missed.
